ROOF OF SOUTHERN ENGLAND WALK Walkers on the South Downs Way during May this year raised in excess of £7500 for The Martlets Hospice in Hove. Money is still coming in and the final sum will be posted shortly.
Walkers held a reception and presentation at the hospice on Tuesday, 24 May. A cheque was presented to one of the hospice patients and a member of the nursing staff.
Walkers were thanked by the hospice fund raising manager Robert Griffiths for such a splendid effort. The question all asked was "when will the next walk be?"

The Roof of Southern England Walk 2003 ëSpaces is a specialist, local supplier with a worldwide network of customers and friends.
We have a positive commitment to our community and regularly undertake projects to support local causes. In 1999 we promoted and organized The Roof of Southern England Walk along the South Downs Way. This trail runs for over 100 miles across the hills from Eastbourne to Winchester. As a result of this sponsored walk we raised around £10,000.00 for the Nigel Porter Unit for Breast Care at our local hospital.
Well, we think it is time to try out the trail again and this year, during May, weíll be hosting this sponsored walk on behalf of The Martlets Hospice, our local respite and terminal care hospice. You can walk the whole trail, or just try individual days. There will be transport from the Brighton and Hove area to the commencement of each dayís walk and weíll be picked up at the finish and brought back to our start point. Each day will involve about 10 to 12 miles walking.
Weíll begin high on the hills above Eastbourne and follow the ancient droving trails to Winchester.
